On top of likely going to school full time, and working part time at a company for little to no money, interns must consider the stress that comes from having little to no free time as a result. Having an absence in work history doesn’t look so great on a resume. Employers at an interview will obviously expect a detailed answer as to why, and being a full time student isn’t always a viable option. Tacking on an internship in addition to school shows the employer that the student is determined and motivated- two virtues that are hard to find today.
